The LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize 2027 has officially opened its call for entries, inviting professional artisans worldwide, including those in Paraguay, to submit their work for the prestigious international award. Applications for the tenth edition of the prize began on July 8, 2026, and will close on October 15, 2026, at 23:59 CET.
Inspired by LOEWE’s own origins as an artisanal workshop, the prize aims to recognize excellence, artistic merit, and innovation across all forms of craft. The winning artisan will receive a prize of €50,000, while two special mentions will each be awarded €5,000. The works of thirty shortlisted finalists will be featured in a physical exhibition in Europe during Spring 2027, alongside a digital exhibition, offering significant international exposure.

The LOEWE Foundation launched its annual Craft Prize in 2016, drawing inspiration from the brand's artisanal beginnings, to celebrate outstanding work in contemporary craft. This tenth edition continues its mission to highlight originality, technical skill, and a strong artistic vision among professional artisans globally. The prize serves as a significant international platform, offering recognition and exposure to talented makers.
The competition has consistently demonstrated its international reach, with the 2026 edition receiving over 5,100 applications from more than 133 countries and regions. From these, a jury selected 30 finalists whose works were exhibited at Singapore’s National Gallery and featured in a digital exhibition. The 2027 prize will culminate in an award ceremony in Europe in Spring 2027, accompanied by an exhibition of the shortlisted works, further amplifying the global presence of contemporary craft.
Eligibility Requirements: Who Can Apply?
The LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize is open to a broad spectrum of artisans, emphasizing professional dedication over specific career milestones. All participants must be 18 years of age or older, and the prize welcomes entries from individuals of any nationality, without restrictions based on gender or country of origin, according to the LOEWE Foundation's official rules.
The term "professional artisan" is defined by a dedication to crafts as a profession, actively participating in exhibitions, galleries, fairs, or educational programs. It is important to note that an artisan does not necessarily need to earn their entire living solely from their craft to qualify. Submissions can be made by an individual or a collective group of makers, but not by a company.
